Norwalk virus is called the “winter virus”because it is common in winter. You can get it from shellfish. But the viruscan also pass from a person to fresh vegetables. A cook with dirty hands cancause an outbreak. In an outbreak, hundreds or even thousands of people get illat the same time. Outbreaks usually occur in hospitals, hotels or schools.
The virus is named after the town of Norwalk, inthe northern USA.In 1968, more half the students and teachers at the primary school became ill.Scientists found the cause after four years. Now many different viruses in foodare called Norwalk,Norwalk-like or Noroviruses.
If you cook shellfish properly, you will kill the virus. If you wash your handsbefore cooking, you will not pass the virus on. People usually become illwithin 48 hours. The symptoms last for two or three days. The illness is notfatal People recover with no long term problems.

Khalid’s family live in Fujairah. They decided to spend three days of the spring holiday in Dubai. Khalid reserved a room in one of the most luxurious hotels there. Khalid ,his wife and their three children left their villa early in the morning and drove to Dubai.
On the first day they went to the big shopping malls. The mother and her two daughters enjoyed shopping . They bought dresses, shoes and nice bags while Khaled took his son Hamad to the fun corner where he had a great time .
On the second day they visited the public park. They enjoyed feeding the animals and eating in the fine weather. On the following day , they went to the theatre to watch a Shakespearean play. In the evening Khaled invited his wife and his children to have dinner in one of the great restaurants in Borj Al Arab. It was one of the best holidays they ever had .

In 1880 the first electricity station was built and for the first time a whole city had electric light.
